Authenticity, Materials and Care
How Shengfeng documents the material and craftsmanship of each statue, what our certificates cover, and how to care for brass and polychrome Buddhist figures.
What we confirm
Each Shengfeng figure is produced in our own workshop. Our documentation confirms the materials used, the forming and finishing methods applied, the dimensions, and the workshop of origin.
We do not authenticate third-party or antique pieces, and we do not describe our new work as antique. Where a piece is made in a historical style, we say so plainly.
Certificate reference
Every figure carries a certificate reference printed on the invoice and packing list. Quote this reference when contacting us and we can confirm the specification and production record for that piece.
Photographs of the finished statue are archived against the same reference.
Care
Dust with a soft, dry brush rather than a cloth, so that pigment and inlay are not abraded. Keep figures out of direct sunlight and away from air-conditioning outlets: polychrome finishes fade under UV and can craze when humidity swings quickly.
Brass left unpainted will darken naturally into a warm patina. If you prefer to keep it bright, use a dry microfibre cloth only — abrasive polishes remove the surface detail that carries the carving.
Clean gilded or inlaid areas with a dry brush only. Do not use water, alcohol or household cleaners on pigment or leaf.
