Rooted in Quanzhou, made for the world
Shengfeng Buddha World is the trading name of Hui'an County Zhangban Shengfeng Arts and Crafts Factory, based in Quanzhou, Fujian — a city long renowned for its religious culture and its community of religious-image carvers.
We were founded in 1994 and have spent more than three decades in the carving and manufacture of Buddhist statues. In that time the workshop has produced devotional figures for temples, monasteries, family shrines, collectors and gallery partners, and has taken on restoration work for older pieces.
Our work sits between two demands: the traditional proportions and iconography that a religious figure must respect, and the finish, consistency and delivery standards that an international client expects.
How we work
Every commission starts with the model. Proportions, posture and the arrangement of robes or armour are settled before any material is cut, because a figure that is wrong in proportion cannot be corrected later by good finishing.
Forming is followed by refinement by hand — filing, chasing, burnishing and, where the design calls for it, polychrome painting and gem inlay. These are slow stages, and we do not compress them.
Before packing we photograph the finished piece and share the images with you, so that what arrives matches what you approved.
Who we work with
We supply temples and monastic communities, art and antique dealers, interior and hospitality projects, and private collectors. We also welcome long-term wholesale and agency partnerships.
Custom commissions are a core part of the business — a large share of our output is made to a client's own drawings, dimensions and finish specification.
